First and foremost I would like to say thank you for visiting my site and if you have any questions or queries please do not hesitate to contact me by using the form on the “Contact/CV Request” page.
At 18 years old I found myself having just completed a BTEC National Diploma in Public Services without a clear vision of what I wanted to do as a career, however, I knew that I wanted to gain some real life experience and develop as a person and individual. So having decided what I wanted to achieve I looked into various options and I make a choice to join the Army as a Tank Crewman.
During my time in the Army I was posted to Germany where I lived for around three years, I trained as an engineer and quickly settled into Army life taking part in a number of activities such as rugby, sailing and football competitions as well as getting the opportunity to ski at a number of resorts in Canada. My approach to team work, my excellent work ethic and ability to communicate well saw me promoted at the earliest opportunity. This role saw me taking charge of teams ranging in size from two or three people all the way to teams of thirty or more.
After serving four and a half years in the Army I felt thatI had acheived what I had set out to acheive from a career in the forces and decided to leave. I used my initiative to set up and work as a self employed tradesman. Acting professionally and courteously I quickly gained a good reputation and obtained both Tameside Buy with Confidence and Derbyshire County Coucil Trusted Trader memberships. This entailed me having to prove my ability to manage Health and Safety in the workplace as well as demonstrate a good understanding of legal requirments and the capability to deal with customers effectively and in a professional manner.
By communicating well with a range of people from labourers to Managing Drectors I built up a number of long term contracts which allowed me to gain an insight into a variety of careers and after careful consideration I decided to pursue a career as a Building Surveyor.
I am now a highly motivated, dedicated and well organised individual with proven experience of working efficiently within demanding environments working effectively independantly or as a leader or member of a team; my ability to work effectively in a team would make me an ideal candidate to work in a multi- disciplinary industry such as surveying. Coming from an engineering background I have a genuine interest in the logical and practical elements of mechanics and construction. I also embrace the prospect of being able to make a positive contribution to the shape of the built environment and world around me
I feel that I am suited to a career as a Building surveyor as I have skills which could be applied to the role; I consider myself to be a reliable, level headed and mature character. I have excellent communication skills with the ability and confidence to converse effectivly at all levels from labourers to company directors.
I am currently interested in hearing about possible employment and placement opportunities. Please feel free to browse the site and should you have any questions or would like to request a CV then please feel free to contact me.
